the black box is an object with a sense of scale approaching an AESTHETIC sublime, that when consumed, revals a DISCONNECTION.
it speaks towards both obserations and critique of the documentary 'manufactured landscapes.' in the film, burtynsky uses a beautifully engineered technique of sublime imagery intended for visual consumption. the viewers perception may change, but ultimately remains DISCONNECTED from reality.
